Philippine Airlines is expanding its services to the US territory of Guam in the western Pacific with a new route from Cebu.

Starting December 16, the Philippine flag carrier will operate three weekly flights between Cebu and Guam. The outbound flights from Cebu will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2140H and arrive 0325H the following morning. The return flight will depart the following morning (Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday) from Guam at 0515H and arrive in Cebu at 0650H. Philippine Airlines will use its Airbus A321ceo aircraft on the new route.

The new Cebu-Guam route will complement Philippine Airlines' daily flights to Guam from Manila.

Guam is one of Philippine Airlines' six destinations in the US where the airline also operates flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York-JFK, Seattle, and Honolulu. Philippine Airlines operated its first flight to Guam on July 31, 1946 as part of its trans-Pacific service using DC-4 aircraft.

“This new service enhances Cebu’s role as a strategic gateway to international markets, while providing Guam’s large Filipino community and travelers from the U.S. Pacific territory direct access to the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” said Richard Nuttall, President, Philippine Airlines. “It reflects our commitment to growing our network and supporting economic and tourism flows between the Philippines and Guam.”

The new Cebu-Guam route is part of Philippine Airlines' ongoing strategy to broaden its international network beyond Manila. From Cebu, the airline operates international flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul Incheon, Tokyo Narita, and Osaka Kansai. The airline also offers domestic connections from Cebu to Manila, Siargao, Bacolod, Caticlan, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, and Busuanga.
